Abstract
In the design process, creativity plays a fundamental role in idea processing. The efforts of some artists in this field have sometimes led to the creation of unique masterpieces that can serve as a reliable source of inspiration for future generations. Isa Bahadori (1365-1284 AH) was a renowned carpet artist and designer. This research aims to explain the elements of creativity and innovation in the works of Isa Bahadori and seeks to answer the following basic questions: How are the elements based on creativity manifested in the Bashariat and Shekar Charkh carpets, and what measures did Bahadori take to design these works? The research method is descriptive- analytical, information was collected based on documentary sources. The study body of the present study consists of the carpets of Bashariat and Shekar Charkh. The content analysis of the works was conducted considering four components: innovation, fluidity, flexibility, and development capability. The findings of this study show that Bahadori, in designing the carpets of Bashariat and Shekar Charkh, while using elements of nature, has organized the final design with measures such as: inventing creative motifs, combining ideas, breaking stereotyped boundaries, using the law of similarity, and creating new relationships between different motifs. The results of examining the components of creativity in the samples under study indicate that the four components of creative thinking, namely: fluidity, flexibility, innovation, and expandability in the carpets of Bashariat and Shekar Charkh, with the characteristics determined in each section, are adaptable to the study body of the present study. This issue is most noticeable in the form of propositions such as: creativity in design, new style, synthesizing, adapting, creating new relationships, restructuring, and addressing historical and cultural details. It seems that Bahadori was one of the artists who succeeded in inventing his own unique forms by creating a new style.
