Cinema as a multifaceted art can be studied with interdisciplinary approaches such as sociology. On the other hand, the representation of women in cinema can shed light on the dimensions of the presence and role of women in the society from which the work emerges. Cinematic adaptation provides a criterion for studying the change from source to adaptation. The representation of a woman in the film Sara, which is a free adaptation of the play A Doll's House, is the focus of this research. Using the discourse analysis method and the combined approach of Ruth Wodak and James Paul Gee, the study aims to examine the distribution of power among different discourses in the film and discover whether this distribution of power is aimed at consolidating or deconstructing patriarchal discourse. This descriptive-analytical research was conducted using the library method, employing qualitative and, in some cases, quantitative approaches. The results show that the fictional characters are completely dominated by the patriarchal ideology, which they in turn reproduce in society. This reproduction becomes evident through an analysis of the relationships between the characters. The distribution of power until the final episodes is entirely in the direction of consolidating this ideology. However, a sudden decision by the main female character, driven by a deep psychological transformation, leads to the deconstruction of this dominant discourse. Therefore, the main research question will be: How is the representation of women in the «Doll House Play» and the «Sara Film» using the Knowledge of discourse analysis?
