The anthology kept in the Metropolitan Museum, which contains some of Shahi’s poems, is one of the valuable literary anthologies, decorated with the Iranian binding art, illuminated manuscripts, and calligraphy in Nastaliq. This anthology has been compiled by the effort of Amir Aq Malek bin Jamaluddin Firouzkohi, known as Amir Shahi of Sabzevari, calligrapher, poet and musician of the 9th century AH, and it is now kept in the Metropolitan Museum. This study tends to examine and Speciology the art of manuscript illumination of this edition, the Anthology of Amir Shahi of Sabzevari. Thus, the present study tends to answer this question: What are the form and structural features of the motifs and decorations of the Shahi’s anthology belonging to the Timurid period? The methodology used is descriptive-analytical and data is collected by the documentation method. The results show that the pages in the Shahi’s manuscript have a similar structure. A large part of the page includes a border with simple decorations and gold details on the background. The writing is in Nastaliq in the background with the darkest color. The main inscription includes a decorative frame with phrases written in Thuluth. Sub-inscriptions are small and usually multiple with similar colors and decorations, following the main inscription.
