In the design process, creativity plays a fundamental role in processing ideas. The efforts of some artists in this field have sometimes led to the creation of unique masterpieces that can serve as a reliable source of inspiration for future generations. Isa Bahadori (1365-1284 AH), a famous carpet artist and designer, is one of them. This research aims to explain the components of creativity and innovation in the works of Isa Bahadori and seeks to answer the following basic questions: How are the components based on creativity manifested in the carpets of Mansharat and Shekar Chark, and what measures did Isa Bahadori use to design these works? The research method is descriptive-analytical and the data collection is based on library resources. The study corpus of the present study consists of Carpets of Bashariat and Shekar Charkh. The content analysis of the works was conducted using a qualitative method, considering four components: originality, fluidity, flexibility, and expandability. The findings of this study show that: These four components, with the indicators determined in each section, are adaptable to the study body of the present study. Also, the comparison of the aforementioned components indicates that: The innovation component with propositions such as: creativity in design, new style, synthesizing, breaking stereotype boundaries, adaptation, blending ideas, using analogical similarity and symbolic signs, creating new relationships and restructuring, is broader than other components, and then the propositions of flexibility and expandability can be considered in this area. Addressing historical and cultural details, as well as paying attention to human themes are other matters that have been considered in the design of these works.
The study of the components of creativity and innovation in the carpets of Bashariat and Shekar Charkh by Isa Bahadori indicates that the artist has created a coherent structure in accordance with the intended narrative by designing specific narratives in the design of his works. Based on the studies conducted and in response to the research questions, it can be said that: In the works of Isa Bahadori, components based on creativity, as mentioned in the findings, are visible. In addition, it seems that Isa Bahadori has organized the final design by utilizing measures such as: inventing creative motifs, interweaving ideas, breaking stereotyped boundaries, using the law of similarity, creating new relationships between different motifs, organizing different parts of the design in specific frameworks, and reflecting historical and cultural details. Considering the way Isa Bahadori exploits elements of nature, such as: using human figures, using swirling clouds to induce movement, arranging bird motifs in various positions that induce different states, it can be said that: in the process of his artistic creation, he has also identified natural patterns and made meaning from them. Other noteworthy points in these works include: attention to details, creating movement and change in motifs. Considering the titles of the works under review, namely: " Bashariat " and " Shekar Charkh ", the artist's mental resources, relying on cultural background and seeing the world well can be considered as other effective factors in the design of these works. The use of framing in different parts of the design and creating a connection between them by using common elements such as plant and animal motifs are other points of attention in the design of these works, which shows Isa Bahadori's special style in design. Considering these cases, it seems that Isa Bahadori was one of the few artists who, by creating a new style in patterning and design development, succeeded in inventing his own unique forms by transcending stereotypical boundaries.
